Cincinnati Bar Scenes
Cincinnati has its share of watering holes and hangouts. Some are pubs, some for games, some are for the dancing queens and some you just may not like. Read up on your choices and make an informed decision on Tristate nightlife.

Allyn's Cafe
Allyn's Café: What you see isn't what you get.

Annie's
A cornerstone of the Cincinnati rock music scene since 1980, Annie's continues to entertain with live music and disco fever nights.

Arnold's
On a nice evening, you can sit in Arnold's brick-walled courtyard, staring up into a canopy of tree leaves and listening to jazzy tunes floating from an upright piano.

Arthur's
The clean neighborhood bar in Hyde Park is a spot to meet friends, to eat outside and to mingle with young professionals--but not for a weekend bacchanalian bender.

Bier Haus
Go there, and you might see Elvis, Neil Diamond and Frank Sinatra. It's the home to one of the city's most dynamite karaoke sub-circles.

Buzz Coffee Shop
Buzz Coffee Shop in Corryville offers nighttime patrons a place to wake up, hang out or escape in its unique house on Jefferson Avenue.

City View Tavern
Sitting south of the Mt. Adams party curtain, this no-table-service, seven-item-menu joint is choice for a quick lunch or happy hour.

Cody's Café
College hangout by day, eclectic music spot by night, this Clifton cybercafe caters to a wide variety of tastes, both musical and food-oriented.

The Comet
A local hangout for the artsy musical crowd, The Comet is well known not only for its giant burritos, but also its well-stocked jukebox and Sunday night bluegrass.

BarrelHouse
A block west from the mayhem that is Main Street, there sits a calmer place.

The Blind Lemon
The narrow, dark and cave-like walkway into the Blind Lemon in Mt. Adams opens into a storybook courtyard and an old-world pub.

Blue Wisp Club
If you can't have fun at the Blue Wisp Jazz Club on Wednesday nights, then you probably can't have fun anywhere.

Brick Yard
The Brick Yard is known for pizza. But its ambiance is more like filet mignon.

The Dubliner
One of the most authentic Irish pubs in the Tristate, hosts a free trivia contest at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday evening.

The E
It has the dive theme perfected. A few regulars sat at each end of the bar and chatted amicably with the staff, as the E's patrons poured quarters into the jukebox and let it play all night.

The East End Cafe
The East End is not Mt.Adams, not Main Street, not Hyde Park, not Covington. Instead, it is a neighborhood bordering the banks of the Ohio River, and on extreme occasions, a part of it.

Habits
Habit's has flair, but I don't mean the kind that T.G.I. Friday's employees stick on their suspenders.

Haps
Hap's is Cincinnati's real green deal. Modeled after pubs that (original) owner Gordon Thomas saw in Ireland in 1975, it bleeds Guinness, black and tans and Catholic paraphernalia.

Havana Martini Club
The Havana Martini Club is clean, dark and swanky. Chock full of Cosmopolitans and live music, it's a little fancy, a little romantic, but not so much that you'll feel intimidated.

Have a Nice Day
The seventies. The poor decade in bellbottoms begs to be forgotten, but Have A Nice Day Cafe just...won't...let it....go.

Japp's
Japp's is loaded with young, beautiful professionals looking for a crazy hour or two before hitting the dance clubs.

Jillians
Enough with the "Chuck E. Cheese for grown-ups" comparison.

Kaldi's
Coffeehouse. Restaurant. Bar. Bookstore. Trying to fit Kaldi's into a particular niche might just erase its easy character.

Latin Quarter
Mariemont and the phrase "hopping nightlife scene" are not usually found in the same sentence. But the Latin Quarter, a spicy restaurant and bar on a corner in the Mariemont Town Square, is packed on the weekends.

Knotty Pine
More than a biker bar, this White Oak watering hole thrives on a hard-rock ambiance with a softer, neighborly feel.

Longworth's
Longworth's, a linchpin of Mount Adams entertainment, is back on the block.

Mad Frog
Don't let the lime green and purple paint of Mad Frog's bright, cartoonish outside influence what you think goes on inside.

Million's
Just around the turn on Linwood Ave. is Mt. Lookout Square, one of hottest Cincinnati neighborhoods for nightlife.

Mt. Lookout Tavern
A favorite event of East Side nightlife, Mount Lookout Tavern's (MLT's) Tuesday night karaoke attracts the best (or best wannabe) young professional karaoke talent.

Overflow
Inviting to students, hip-hop and ska music, Main Street divas, pop stars and partiers, either for a few cocktails or for some solid original songs from the Cincinnati scene.

Paxton's Grill
The historic Loveland building now housing Paxton's Grill once had a reputation as a biker bar. Now the only bike around the bar is the Schwinn hanging from the back wall.

Pilot Inn
Where do you go if you just want three-for-a-dollar nightlife? To hang out, listen to the jukebox, talk and maybe play some darts? The Pilot Inn.

Promontory
At The Promontory Bar & Grill, you can enjoying a drink, conversation and music loud enough to entertain but not loud enough to interfere.

The Pub at Rookwood Mews
Opened over the holiday season, Rookwood Commons' newest entertainment addition attracts patrons with a cozy British pub theme.

R.P. McMurphys
It's been called McDownell's, McDonald's, "That R.P. place" and my favorite, T.G.I McScratchy's.

Sitwell's
Sitwell's isn't the first place Cincinnatians think of when thinking "bars and clubs," but it's evident that Sitwell's patrons like it that way.

Spy Club
Inside an unassuming brick building on Fifth Street downtown is a sophisticated dance club where the crowd strives to be as hip as the surroundings.

Southgate House
Stopping by the Southgate House in Newport feels a bit like visiting a fraternity house that has seen its share of hell-raising parties.

Sunflower Coffee House
Part coffee house and part college bar, Clifton's Sunflower Coffee House features live local music, even without a stage or lighting system.

Wooster Tavern
Wooster Tavern in Fairfax sports a large outdoor deck for warm summer nights, traditional bar food with a twist and an atmosphere that caters to families and singles.

Yesterday's
Yesterday's Old Time Saloon in Mt. Adams serves as a respite from the pretense that can creep up the hill. The bar's aura suggests that no one really cares what you're wearing or drinking.

York Street Cafe
What once was a Newport corner drug store and became the three-story York Street Café in 1996, a very savvy nightlife stop offering entertainment through décor, events, food and drink.
